Premium Fragrance House
The history of this perfume brand traces back to the creation of the original Eau de Cologne in 1709 by Johann Maria Farina. The iconic scent, associated with the Farina name, became a symbol of elegance and success. Over time, the brand evolved, with Wilhelm Mülhens establishing a manufactory for Eau de Cologne in 1792, later known as 4711 due to the French renumbering of Cologne. Following Napoleon's decree in 1810, the Eau de Cologne shifted its focus to external use only, leading to the development of the distinctive Molanus bottle in 1820. The trademark number "4711" was officially registered in 1875, marking a significant milestone for the brand's recognition. Despite challenges during both World Wars, the company persevered and expanded its offerings to include fragrances like Tosca and Sir. After being acquired by Procter & Gamble and later by Mäurer & Wirtz, the brand introduced a modern twist on the classic Eau de Cologne with the launch of Nouveau Cologne in 2011, aimed at appealing to a younger audience. Through resilience and innovation, this historic perfume brand continues to captivate fragrance enthusiasts worldwide.
