Acqua di Biella

Acqua di Biella

Established in 1871 in Biella, Piedmont, Luigi Cantono founded a small manufacturer of soap, candles, perfumed ointments, and perfumed waters, including the iconic Acqua di Biella (now known as Acqua di Biella No.1). This citrus-floral fragrance was originally created by Cantono to complement the company's range of fragrances. Its instant appeal led to widespread popularity, becoming the go-to cologne across Italy and even earning the recognition of the royal family, leading to a prestigious purveyorship to the court in 1878. Today, the Acqua di Biella products still proudly display the coat of arms granted by the Savoy family, although the royal house of Italy is now history. The fourth generation of the Cantono family continues the legacy by meticulously following the original recipe, utilizing natural and traditional ingredients. In 1996, Chiara Cantono, Luigi's great-granddaughter, assumed a leadership role in the family business. Introducing fresh concepts, she revitalized the brand and in 2003, launched a new line of fragrances in harmony with the timeless essence of the original Acqua di Biella. Honoring the heritage of the historic house, the new fragrances are carefully crafted to embody a classic yet contemporary appeal. The family's commitment to quality and tradition endures, ensuring that each fragrance embodies a blend of timeless elegance and modern sophistication.
