Born in 1948 in Hong Kong, Alfred Sung's creative talent led him to study fashion design at Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne before making his mark as a designer in New York. In 1972, he established his first fashion boutique in Toronto, where he would later form a partnership with Saul and Joseph Mimran in 1980 to create Monaco Group Inc., the company responsible for distributing his collections. Recognized as the King of the Canadian Fashion Industry in 1983, Alfred Sung launched his first fragrance, "Sung by Alfred Sung," in 1986, which was met with great success. This was followed by a collection of other popular perfumes, including "Shi Alfred Sung," "Alfred Sung Paradise," and "Jewel Alfred Sung."
