Lanvin

Lanvin is a prestigious French fashion house established in Paris in 1889 by renowned designer Jeanne Lanvin. Boasting the title of the oldest French fashion label still thriving today, Lanvin offers luxurious prêt-à-porter clothing, accessories, and exquisite perfumes for both men and women, along with a line of children's clothing. From 1909 to 1993, Lanvin dazzled the fashion world with its haute couture creations for women in the highest price range. Jeanne Lanvin, a talented milliner, opened a boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris in 1889, featuring chic hats. Over the years, the brand expanded to present charming girls' dresses in 1903, followed by opulent haute couture pieces for women in 1909. Lanvin's signature designs were characterized by whimsical, youthful styles in vibrant hues, crafted from exquisite fabrics adorned with intricate embellishments. While other French designers aimed for minimalistic sophistication in the early 1900s, Lanvin continued to captivate with romantic, playful pieces like long dresses and flowing skirts, embellished with ribbons, ruffles, and floral motifs inspired by daisies, Jeanne Lanvin's daughter Marguerite's namesake flower. The brand introduced wedding gowns in 1911 and the Lanvin Sport line in 1924 for elegant casual wear. In 1924, Lanvin Parfums was established, unveiling the iconic fragrance "Arpège" in 1927, a tribute to Marguerite's piano skills. The brand's emblem, featuring a mother and daughter motif, symbolizes Jeanne Lanvin's deep affection for her child. Lanvin has also created notable men's scents like "Monsieur Lanvin" and "Vetyver Lanvin," both introduced in 1964. After several ownership changes, Lanvin became majority-owned by Taiwanese media mogul Shaw-Lan Wang in 2001. The brand commemorated its 125th anniversary in 2014, maintaining its legacy of timeless elegance and sophistication.
