Pino Silvestre

The iconic fragrance Pino Silvestre was first created in the 1950s by the renowned company Vidal, making it a classic Italian scent that is still cherished today. Founded by the Vidal brothers Lino, Renzo, and Mario, Vidal was responsible for crafting a variety of fragrances and toiletries until the early 1980s, with Pino Silvestre emerging as a standout product in their lineup. In 1981, Vidal was acquired by Henkel, which continued to produce the scent until 1986. However, in 1986, the rights to Pino Silvestre were reclaimed by Massimo Vidal, son of Renzo, who subsequently established his own company, Mavive. Under the new management, Pino Silvestre remains in production to this day. Interestingly, historical advertisements from the 1950s to the 1970s suggest that the fragrance, with its distinct unisex appeal, may have been initially or later marketed towards women as well. This versatility is reflected in various advertisements that showcase Pino Silvestre as a scent suitable for both men and women, adding to its timeless allure and widespread appeal.
