Puig
Antonio Puig established Antonio Puig S.A. in 1914, which later evolved into a renowned fragrance and cosmetics brand. Over the years, his four sons joined the company, leading to the establishment of a cosmetics division and a perfume division. In 1922, the brand launched its first in-house developed product, the iconic "Milady" lipstick, Spain's first locally manufactured lipstick. In 1940, amidst political tensions, Antonio Puig S.A. introduced one of its most successful products, "Agua Lavanda," sourced exclusively from Spain. The company's growth led to a relocation in 1946 to their current headquarters at Travessera de Gracia No. 9 in Barcelona. By entrusting the management to his four sons, Antonio Puig set the stage for a new management structure with specialized divisions. In 1960, a modern production facility was inaugurated in Besós Industrial Park, emphasizing product quality through in-house perfume and cosmetics laboratories. Puig's internationalization journey began in 1959 with a division in the United States, followed by the establishment of a presence in Paris in 1968 by integrating the Paco Rabanne brand. Expansion continued through partnerships with renowned names like Carolina Herrera, Antonio Banderas, and Nina Ricci. Throughout the years, Puig expanded its portfolio by integrating various brands like Adolfo Dominguez, Massimo Dutti, and Zara. Collaborations with Comme des Garçons, Prada, Shakira, Valentino, and Jean Paul Gaultier further solidified Puig's presence in the global market. As the company evolved, Marc Puig took over as CEO in 2004, continuing to lead Puig's growth and innovation. In 2009, the company name transitioned from "Puig Beauty & Fashion Company" to simply "Puig," reflecting its diverse offerings across beauty and fashion categories. Today, Puig stands as a prominent global group with a strong foothold in the industry, showcasing a rich history of successful collaborations and iconic products.
