Chloé

The origins of the luxury fragrance brand "Chloé" can be traced back to Egypt in 1952, where talented dressmaker Gaby Aghion resided before relocating to the fashion capital of Paris after World War II. Supported by entrepreneur Jacques Lenoir, she named her brand "Chloé" in honor of her closest friend. Seeking to offer a refreshing alternative to traditional haute couture, Aghion focused on creating stylish yet practical women's fashion that could be seamlessly integrated into everyday life (prêt-à-porter). With the help of emerging fashion talents, including the iconic Karl Lagerfeld, "Chloé" flourished creatively. During Lagerfeld's tenure as creative director from 1963 to 1983, "Chloé" became a globally renowned fashion house, attracting a roster of esteemed clientele such as Maria Callas, Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy, and Brigitte Bardot. Despite subsequent designer changes post-Lagerfeld, notably Guy Paulin and Martine Sitbon, the brand struggled to maintain its creative momentum until it was acquired by "Alfred Dunhill, Ltd." in 1985. Following a series of ownership changes within the luxury conglomerate landscape, "Chloé" is now under the umbrella of "Compagnie Financière Richemont SA," ensuring its continued legacy in the world of high fashion.
