Ginestet

Founded in 1897 by Fernand Ginestet in Bordeaux, Ginestet & Co initially made a name for itself in the world of winemaking, focusing on upholding the highest standards of Bordeaux tradition. Over the years, the brand garnered acclaim for its exceptional wines, winning awards and establishing a strong presence in the Bordeaux market. Today, Ginestet remains a respected name, working in collaboration with selected chateaux and winemaking families to produce high-quality wines. Although Ginestet has roots in wine, the brand found commonality with the art of perfume composition. Just as in creating a Bordeaux blend, crafting a fragrance involves considerations of various elements such as fruitiness, astringency, sweetness, acidity, and other nuanced notes. This realization sparked a collaboration between Christian Delpeuch, a director at Ginestet, and Gilles Toledano, a skilled perfumer from Grasse. Their shared passion for both oenology and perfumery led them to develop a unique collection of fragrances inspired by Bordeaux varieties. In 2008, Ginestet unveiled a trio of perfumes: "Sauvignonne" capturing the essence of a dry white wine, "Botrytis" evoking the sweetness of a sauterne, and "Le Boisé" embodying the richness of a woody red wine. Through this innovative fusion of wine-inspired scents, Ginestet expanded its creative boundaries, offering a sensory experience that harmoniously melds the worlds of wine and fragrance.
