Robert Piguet

Paul Jean Robert Piguet, a Swiss-born designer who was born in 1898, developed a strong passion for design, fashion, and fragrances on his own. Against the wishes of his banker and merchant parents, Piguet boldly ventured to Paris at just 17 to pursue his education. Upon opening a fashion studio in Paris in 1933, Piguet's distinctive style, influenced by his aristocratic background, quickly caught the attention of the fashion world. With a focus on clean lines, subtle colors, luxurious fabrics, and meticulous attention to detail, Piguet found success. His personal connections in the elite circles of Paris, which included luminaries such as Colette, Jean Cocteau, Édith Piaf, and Jean Marais, further elevated his reputation. As he solidified his place in the fashion industry, Piguet turned his creative talents to perfumery in 1944. The debut fragrance, "Bandit," introduced a daring blend of mugwort, carnation, jasmine, leather, musk, orange, and bergamot. Subsequent fragrances like "Visa" (1945), "Fracas" (1948), and "Bagari" (1950) further showcased Piguet's olfactory artistry. Following Piguet's passing in 1953, his legacy lived on through a fragrance created in his honor - "Cravache," introduced in 1963. This enduring tribute continues to honor the timeless elegance and innovation synonymous with the Robert Piguet brand.
