The brand "Atkinson" stands out for its unique logo featuring a bear, a nod to its founder James Atkinson who experimented with bear fat in his early cosmetic recipes before establishing the company in 1799. Initially known for hair pomades containing bear fat, the brand later transitioned to focus on perfumes and cosmetics, achieving great success in southeast London. The appointment of James Atkinson as chief perfumer at the Court of St. James in 1832 highlighted the brand's prestige. Following World War I, "Atkinson" shifted its focus to perfumes and cosmetics, attracting a distinguished clientele including King George IV, Admiral Lord Nelson, and the Russian Tsar. The brand's enduring legacy led to the construction of the Atkinson Building in London in 1926. Despite a period of quiet in the mid-20th century, "Atkinson" experienced a revival in the new millennium after being acquired by the "Procter & Gamble Company" in 2008. A relaunch in 2013 saw the reintroduction of the brand's perfumes, scented candles, shower gels, and other luxury items, now available in specialty stores across America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
