The Fragonard perfume brand, established in 1926, is a revered and historic company based in the charming town of Grasse in southern France. This renowned perfumery has its roots in the passion for fragrances held by founder Eugène Fuchs, who initially sold perfumes to vacationers on the Côte d'Azur before officially establishing Fragonard. The name "Fragonard" not only pays homage to the town of Grasse where the company originated but also honors the esteemed French rococo painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard, a native of the region. As the brand flourished, it expanded its presence from Grasse to Paris and gained widespread international acclaim. In the 1970s, Jean-François Costa led a modernization of the company, and he also established perfume museums in Grasse and Paris, further enhancing Fragonard's cultural importance. Today, the company is overseen by his daughters Agnès and Françoise Costa, ensuring the continuation of Fragonard's legacy of fine perfumery.
