Founded in 1747 by Jean de Galimard, the brand quickly gained prominence as a supplier of fragrances, powders, and oils to the court of King Louis XV, solidifying its place as the third oldest perfume company in the world. Located in Grasse on the Côte d'Azur, the world's first perfume metropolis, Parfumerie Galimard has continued to thrive over the centuries. In 1920, farmer and war veteran Siméon Roux played a vital role in preserving the brand's legacy by planting fields of jasmine and orange blossoms in his village of Gourdon. By reviving Jean de Galimard's old recipes and creating new fragrances, Roux ensured that the brand remained relevant well into the new millennium. Apart from its storied history, Parfumerie Galimard has also cultivated a loyal customer base through its unique initiatives. Since 1996, the brand has offered special perfume workshops in Grasse, allowing customers to experience the art of fragrance creation firsthand. Additionally, a sample laboratory was opened in 2007 to showcase the brand's masterful creations. In recognition of its exceptional craftsmanship and enduring tradition as a former purveyor to the court, Parfumerie Galimard was honored by the UN in 2018 by being listed in the "List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity."
