Founded in 1987 by French designer Gérard Le Goff, IKKS is a renowned fashion brand based in Saint-Macaire-en-Mauges, France. Originally intended to be named "X", the brand opted for the pronounced letter "X" due to its proximity to plus and below sizes like XL and XS. The first children and teenagers collection, IKKS Junior, was curated by Le Goff alongside stylist Sonia Provost and partner Viviane Peigné in 1987. The brand opened its first store in 1993, expanding to include the cutting-edge women's collection, IKKS Women, just six years later. Collaborating with a French fashion group in 2000 enabled the brand to branch out into shoes, bags, and fragrances. Following the success, IKKS introduced the chic men's line, IKKS Men, in 2003, along with the knitted children's collection, Knitted by IKKS. Celebrating its twentieth anniversary, IKKS launched an online store and continued to innovate by introducing a lingerie series in 2011 and expanding its bag collection in 2012. Catering to upper-middle-class shoppers, IKKS offers a diverse range of women's, men's, and children's fashion, from urban and casual to classic and sophisticated styles. The brand, now part of a French investor group, continues to captivate fashion enthusiasts with its timeless and trendy designs.
