J.B. Filz

Established in 1809, J.B. Filz is a prestigious Viennese perfumery marking its 200th anniversary with the revival of two timeless "fragrances" that have graced its collection for generations. Originally renowned for crafting soaps, creams, pomades, makeup, and scented waters, the company introduced the iconic "Wiener Lieblingsduft" in the mid-19th century. By the end of the 19th century, their products were coveted by the aristocracy and upper class, with the lavender water, immortalized in Heimito von Doderer's novel "Die Strudlhofstiege," becoming a symbol of sophistication. In 1872, J.B. Filz was bestowed the prestigious title "K&K Hove Parfumeur," solidifying its reputation for luxury and excellence. Today, under the stewardship of the 6th and 7th generations, the perfumery continues to offer the famed "Viennese favorite fragrance" and lavender water, meticulously crafted according to the original formulas handed down through time.
