He crafted his own scented pomades and creams and later had a notable influence on the fashion and perfume industry while residing in Paris with his wife Gala.

In 1976, at a later stage in his life, Dali, together with the COFCI company under Jean-Pierre Grivory's direction, launched his first fragrances. The first fragrance, "Salvador Dali," debuted in 1983 as an animalic and spicy chypre scent, which received recognition with the Export Oscar. Despite his passing in 1989, Salvador Dali's legacy lives on through the brand's continuation.
