Mace is a warm and spicy note derived from the outer layer of nutmeg seeds. It adds an exotic and aromatic touch to perfumes, often described as sweet, woody, and slightly peppery.

Mace appears in 164 perfumes on Aromifo. It is used as a top note in 63% of them, a heart note in 32% and a base note in 5%. It is most often paired with Musk, Sandalwood and Amber, and 44% of the perfumes that use it are unisex.
