Ambrettolide is a synthetic musk compound used in perfumery for its powdery and animalic aroma. It adds depth and warmth to fragrances, often described as musky, sweet, and slightly woody.

Ambrettolide appears in 97 perfumes on Aromifo. It is used as a base note in 84% of them, a top note in 11% and a heart note in 5%. It is most often paired with Bergamot, Musk and Sandalwood, and 80% of the perfumes that use it are unisex.
