Maltol is a sweet and sugary note often found in gourmand and dessert-like fragrances. It adds a caramelized and comforting touch, reminiscent of candy and cotton candy.

Maltol appears in 72 perfumes on Aromifo. It is used as a base note in 88% of them, a heart note in 8% and a top note in 3%. It is most often paired with Musk, Vanilla and Patchouli, and 50% of the perfumes that use it are for women.
